Every day and night we are bombarded by T.V. commericals urging us to

ask our Doctors for the latest new prescription drugs, wether we need

them or not. Then the commercials rattle off the list of side

effects, which are often far worse than the conditions Doctors are

prescribing them for! This is nothing new, the drug companies using

the advertising companies to brainwash us, via T.V., Radio, and

printed ads, to basically go to our drug pushers, the " Doctors " , and

beg them to prescribe us drugs we don't even need, and definitely

can't afford without insurance. Think about it - for all those of us

who are " Baby Boomers " , back when we were little kids, in the '50's

and '60's, the toy and food companies started brainwashing us to bug

our parents to buy us this toy or that, this food or that, via the

newest technology, Television, back then. We Baby Boomers need to

start protesting this blatant drug company conspiracy, no doubt

funded and fueled by the Bush regime behind it, to turn all of

America into hard core drug addicts, addicted to drugs with side

effects that deliberately cloud peoples judgement, so the Bush regime

can do anything they want to us, right under our noses, and keep us

in a drugged stupor, unable to do anything about it. WAKE UP,

AMERICA! JUST SAY NO TO DRUGS, AND JUST SAY NO TO DOCTORS WHO TRY TO

PUSH DRUGS YOU DO NOT NEED! Whenever a Doctor tries to get you to

try a new drug, ALWAYS QUESTION WETHER YOUR CONDITION REALLY WARRANTS

IT, AND ASK THE DOCTOR IF A VITAMIN OR NUTRITIONAL SUPPLIMENT MIGHT

HELP JUST AS MUCH, OR MAYBE EVEN CURE YOUR CONDITION. AND DON'T JUST

TAKE ONE DOCTOR'S WORD FOR IT - GO ONLINE, AND DO RESEARCH YOURSELF

ABOUT YOUR CONDITION, AND IF THERE ARE POSSIBLE NUTRITIONAL

ALTERNATIVES BEFORE LETTING YOUR DOCTOR PRESCRIBE ANY DRUG.

We all need to unite and also get those drug company

commercials outlawed like they did with cigarette commercials!

Dear Flamingarrow,

I appreciate your passion and agree completely with your sentiment about the drug companys - but may I suggest not getting carried away by claiming that there is a Bush Regime behind it? This is no longer a Rep-Dem issue - the same thing happened on Clinton's watch, and I don't blame him either. I think that the Prez is very much insulated from the real world of what is going in health care and how much better alternative medicine - ANY alternative is.

The real culprit???? The FDA!!!! Married to the Drug Companies!!! How many members who sit on the FDA board making the ultimate decision about health care have ownership in Drug Companies? Nearly ALL of them. That is the problem, and if it happened in the private sector, it would be called an illegal conflict of interest. And these are the 'men' advising the President.

Futhermore, if the Prez did not go along with the feel-good-let's-give-everybody-drugs-health-care system, he would be labeled "uncaring" and "catering only to those who can afford to pay". The drug industry answers to its investors to increase profits and

the marketing depts. comply to those wishes. Consequently, we have tv

ads touting new drugs not any better than older (but patent expired)

ones. And lest we forget the lifestyle drugs! Lets face it - they

make money if and when you are sick. The industry and the FDA are the

problem. As far as asking your doctor about nutritional

therapies....they aren't trained in that regard most don't believe in

anything counter to their training. With over 1/4 million reseach

papers on nutrition alone per year, your doctor can't keep up with

that and practice too.
