Hello,

My name is Cindy and last year I had 3 1/2 feet of my large intestine

removed. The surgeon connected my small intestine to my sigmoid. This

was done due to a chronic history of motility challenges, severe

constipation and ulcerative colitis. When I was admitted to the hospita,

I had not had a bowel movement for 19 days. The last five of those I was

under a physicians care and they tried every enema and oral solution

known to man. I still did not pass stool, however started bleeding from

the rectum. I am still having challenges with motility and constipation

and have recently been diagnosed with an Inflammatory Arthritis known as

Colitic Arthritis. This is an autoimmune disease and the specialist

wants to put me on prednisone and methotrexate. I am frightened. The

joint pain is mostly in ankles, knees arms and wrists. Have had shots of

cortisone in both hips and lower spine area in the last three months.

I would appreciate any suggestions, books to read, people to talk to

etc. I am ready to make a drastic change in life. I am 46 years old 5 ft

6in and weigh 145 lbs. Have never smoked anything, taken illegal drugs

and have had probably 15 alcohol drinks in my entire life. Am looking

into detox cleanses, dietary changes, juicing.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank-you kindly,

Cindy

I am also a member of the Leaky Gut group. What you describe sounds

very similar to what many of us suffer related to leaky gut

syndrome. You may want to browse thru the postings on that sight for

dietary suggestions, detox methods, supplementation, etc. It is a

true eye opener what many people struggle with for years. An

unhealthy gut can cause many ailments.
