Parkinson’s Drug Causes Gambling Side Effect

A drug for Parkinson’s disease may cause users to start compulsively gambling,

according to a study. A large number of patents taking the Parkinson’s drug

Mirapex gambled so much that they had financial problems.

Patients taking other drugs did not experience the excessive gambling side

effect. For patients taking Mirapex, the gambling behavior got better when they

switched to a different drug.

Dr. Mercola's Comment:

Along with the risk of gambling your life savings away, Parkinson’s drugs can

cause a myriad of other side effects such as:

Nausea

Vomiting

Low blood pressure

Jerky movements

Paranoia

Hallucinations

Confusion

An inability to sleep

Dry mouth

Constipation

Memory loss

Blurred vision

Prevention is the best option with Parkinson’s disease. Several key steps, such

as eating fresh, raw vegetables and avoiding pesticides, petrochemical solvents,

excess iron and excess manganese can be extremely beneficial.
