help for steroid

My son, after inhaling a sunflower seed into his lung, pneumonia,

lower lung collapse and surgery, he is now on prelone for

inflamation and we are hoping that takes care of the inflamation

from all of this. There is too much air in his lungs now, because of

the inflamation. They are hoping that it is just that and not

another seed somewhere in his lung..

I know steroids are bad for you, but I dont know why, and I dont

know what I can do to battle the effects of this drug. He will be on

it for three more days and at that time, we will see the doc.
