Hello all

This is the first time Ive writen to this group, but have been member of various

groups, including this one, for 4 years.

Irll try to make this short. Am considering putting myself into a clinique

specializing in medication related problems. In essance I started with a benzo

problem, and to get off that was put on many ad's. The ad,s then became the

problem, and to try to stop these I took various substances advised by various

groups. Unfortunatly some of these substances damaged me as badly as the drugs I

took them to stop. Found myself back in a nut house april of this year. Was

there 3 months, and back on ADs, but they hurt me all over again, and still

suffing from the alternatives that were taken last december. The deppression/

weakness/sickness are so bad can hardly talk/eat/function at all. Have been

advised to go to the only clinique in france that specializes in medication

withdrawal. What do you surgest/think?

Stopped benzos 2 years ago, and ads a few days ago, but am so ill that cant just

do nothing as am loosing weight fast (57kg for 1m76).

Thanks for any advise.

Hello Jason,

The inpatient drug treatment programs are almost always a very short

taper which with benzos and antidepressants is about equal to a cold

turkey solution.

The inpatient treatment programs hardly ever go beyond thirty days

and the withdrawal is just building a head of steam at that point for

these drugs. The withdrawal from benzos can be a year or more. As for

the Antideps, it can take a few years for some to right their brain

chemicals again.

These programs are not designed to get you off safely. They are

designed to be very profitable for the hospital or whatever they call

their facility. Your welfare is way down on their list of priorities.

The only treatment they offer is usually another chemical to help

cover the horrible symptoms of withdrawal that these drugs cause. The

problem is that the person has just swithched chemicals and is just

covering up the damage by suppressing the symptoms, but it does not

heal and will reoccur when the person tries to get off that which was

used to cover them up.

The only real healing takes place when the body is fortified with

libral amounts of what it needs to heal. Amino acids to make

nuerotransmitters, vitamins to heal, omega lll fatty acids to rebuild

myelin, lots of vitamin C to carry away all the stored toxic

byproducts of taking this crap, vitamin E to heal, niacin to detox

the toxins, and many others not listed.

Will these nutrients stop the pain and cover the symptoms of

withdrawal or toxic damage? Unfortunately No they will not. Some will

lessen the symptoms considerably if taken in large amounts. That is

not the answer most people want, so they move from one drug to

another, at their doctors urging, hoping to avoid the inevitable

symptoms and just get further and further into being sucked into a

drug whirlwind nightmare. The doctors will keep prescribing and

telling you that they are experts. Maybe experts at bullshitting, but

most of them don't have a clue what these drugs do or how to get you

off of them. They damage the hell out of people almost at every turn.

Basically most are nothing more than licensed drug dealers, whether

they are pushing a heart pill or this type of dope. Almost all do

nothing more than cover up the symptom and cause further damage.

I am sure that you are somewhat familiar with the Ashton manual for

tapering off of benzos. Well the same principle holds true for the

antideps. It usually has to be a long slow taper to allow the brain

to rebalance gradually as it is able to.

Read all of the links and read as many of the messages in the

archives about these drugs as you can stand and you will be in better

shape, knowledge wise, than 99% of the people who try and come off

these drugs and probably almost the same amount of doctors.

Good luck,

Frank
