Guest guest
Mon, 11 Aug 2003 11:26:41 -0700 A SPECIAL MEMO FROM NICHOLAS REGUSH AT RFD, AUGUST 11, 2003 " Nicholas Regush " August 11, 2003 A SPECIAL MEMO TO ALL RFD MEMBERS FROM NICHOLAS REGUSH In the fall, RFD will launch a series of seminars, the first to be held in New York City. This is partly in response to some of our members who have written asking for RFD seminars. So we're off to the races and we'll post details shortly, but I thought I would give you a more personal preview of what we are planning. The title of the seminar is " CROSSROADS. " It refers to the place most of us find ourselves a good deal of the time when we face new health-related information. As an investigative reporter in the health arena for more than 30 years, it has been a good part of my job to determine what makes sense and to filter some of the information to the general public. While I developed these skills over a long history, there are many techniques and ideas that can be imparted to others so that the choices they make are both appropriate for themselves and for loved ones. In a world of news where it is becoming vitally important to have " filtering " talent, this feature, given my background, is something that I can help others acquire to the best of their ability. Unfortunately, so much of mainstream health news, and even the alternative health news, is a mishmash of agendas, sales pitches, false promises, ego-boosting claims and outright hogwash, that it is becoming more difficult for many people to get a good fix on the turn they might take and the road they should travel, whether this has to do with diet, cancer treatment, heart disease, and just about every other health issue going. One of my tasks as editor of RFD is to help people gauge the various options, or at the very least, to know they exist. As a seminar, " CROSSROADS " will be aimed at arming you with many of the tools required to make good choices that are vitally important to YOU. I've done a lot of public speaking in the past but gave that up because there were not enough hours in the day to even think about doing it any longer. But after almost two years of rarely even venturing outside of Montreal (Yes, RFD does indeed take a ton of time) and having endured some health problems, I'm eager to step out again and get my ideas out also in a more personal way. And so I am looking forward to these seminars. " CROSSROADS " will be done in two parts on the same day, and you will get to meet the " family. " Namely me and my wife, Barbara Lewis (who is actually much brighter than I am, and has amazing presence before a crowd. I'm dull by comparison). However, I will do the heavy loading this first time around and provide two-three hours worth of much that I have learned in more than 30 years in my profession about how to deal with health CROSSROADS. Barbara, whom you know from her LIFE JOURNEY e-Newsletter and perhaps her music, will do a special short presentation focused on dealing with the emotional requirements of choosing paths. This will be a stirring and inspirational combination of talk and song. Also, doing such a seminar will offer both of us the opportunity of getting to know some RFD members. We'll also have plenty of time for a good closing session for questions. The seminars will run about $75 per person for roughly 4-5 hours (with breaks, of course). RFD members will be able to purchase tickets at a good discount, likely for about $50, if they purchase them before a certain date. I know it's customary these days to offer seductive gifts to potential seminar rs, but we're not going to do that. You get US. That's it. No hype. And we'll do our best to ensure that you go home in very good cheer and also extremely well-informed. We're now in the process of selecting other cities for the " CROSSROADS " seminar. You can help us decide by indicating whether you are interested in attending one. Feel free to write to us, even if it is just to say that you will be interested in attending a seminar. It's good to get feedback (But if you do write, please put " conference " in the subject heading of your email, so we won't see it as spam). nregush Also, if there is a group in your area that may wish to get involved with us in putting on a " CROSSROADS " seminar, please let us know. This may be important to the scheduling process. In any case, sometime this week, we expect to post information on the New York area seminar. All best, and thank-you for reading this.
