Guest guest
Well, I am so sorry that you have such health care. My rheumatologist and family physician put together these supplements for me when pharmaceuticals did not work, caused significant side effects and etc. I strongly suggest you get the book " From Fatigued to Fantastic " by Teitlebaum, MD and the book on FMS by the MD who's had it. Read them then give them to your doc...... that should help raise awareness as to the RESEARCH and successful practices in helping folks deal with FMS. All my supplements are ORAL. SAM-e helps to raise serotonin and is oral and over the counter. I get mine by the case from an online source at a good price for three years now. Hope this helps mjh In a message dated 8/8/03 6:19:17 PM Eastern Daylight Time, canadianmade4u writes: > Hello again; > > No, I didn't know about vitamin C . > > I have read about seratonin injections and magnesium injections. > > But, my doctor doesn't believe in alternative medicine. > > I know of a lady who has fms and cfs and she goes for magnesium injections > every week, and she doesn't fine any difference. > > I realise that everyone's body is composed differently > > Genetic wise that is. > > I've even tried acupuncture, and it only worked to relieve the pain while > the needles were in me, once he took them out , I was in just as much pain as > when I walked in. > > > > foxhillers wrote: > In a message dated 8/8/03 5:05:10 PM Eastern Daylight Time, > canadianmade4u writes: > > > > Hello; > > > > Thank You!!! > > > > I have tried the MSM , I didn't find that it helped me all that much. > > > > I was on it for couple of years. > > > > I'll read up on the rest t hough. > > > > Thanks Again!!! > > > > Much appreciated. > > > > > > Irene Marie > > canadianmade4u > > > > > > Irene Marie > Where you taking enough along with the necessary cofactor of Vitamin C. > For me, it takes ALL that I listed to provide optimum results in improve > well being, pain management and sleep. > mjh > >

Guest guest
Hello again; No, I didn't know about vitamin C . I have read about seratonin injections and magnesium injections. But, my doctor doesn't believe in alternative medicine. I know of a lady who has fms and cfs and she goes for magnesium injections every week, and she doesn't fine any difference. I realise that everyone's body is composed differently Genetic wise that is. I've even tried acupuncture, and it only worked to relieve the pain while the needles were in me, once he took them out , I was in just as much pain as when I walked in. foxhillers wrote: In a message dated 8/8/03 5:05:10 PM Eastern Daylight Time, canadianmade4u writes: > Hello; > > Thank You!!! > > I have tried the MSM , I didn't find that it helped me all that much. > > I was on it for couple of years. > > I'll read up on the rest t hough. > > Thanks Again!!! > > Much appreciated. > > > Irene Marie > canadianmade4u > > Irene Marie Where you taking enough along with the necessary cofactor of Vitamin C. Guest guest
(If the majority of people wait for their doctors to heal them, they are in for a wait till the end of your life, which usually will be made quicker in the process. Almost all use allopathic medicine exlusively. They don't have a clue what causes disease, what cures it or what is health. They only know what drug from the drug company goes with what symptom. (almost anyone with A TV with drug ads playing has the same information) They don't know the first thing about nutrition, let alone herbs. For the majority of people it is probably a blessing in disguise to NOT have access to a doctor for one reason or another. Also this list is not a platform to #### of our doctors. Maybe the AMA has a group available?) Irene Although I live in a rural area and one doc is 25 miles away and the other 50 miles away, I value them and their opinions..... HOWEVER, I have to live in this body so I need to understand what supports it and provide that. So, like you, I search and study and talk to folks and try stuff and then, report all that to the docs, in writing. I was bedridden with severe cognitive dysfuntion for years, so you can tell that I am improved or else I would not have been able to write this. mjh In a message dated 8/8/03 10:02:59 PM Eastern Daylight Time, canadianmade4u writes: > Hello Alobar; > > Unfortunately my doctor doesn't believe in it, because, she told me, that, > since there is no proof about things , that she doesn't believe in it. > > Then when I had returned for my next visit, I gave her a pile of printed > proof about all sorts of things that I found and read etc.... pertaining to FMS > and alternatives. > > She didn't say much. > > She just pushed the papers aside on her desk next to her computer and that's > it. > > Unfortunately, where I am , we have major and I mean major doctor shortages. > > One is fortunate to have a doctor , even if they're not the greatest . > > I have been in search of a new doctor for few years now. > > I know of some people who don't even have a doctor to be able to get > treatment . > > They just rely on after hours walk in clinics and emergency dept. at the > hospital . > > Most clinics and hospitals tell you , if you need something done or refill > for some meds etc... that you need to see your family physicians. > > It's a joke at times. > > Even after you tell them , that you don't have and the reason why you are > there is because of not having one. > > I have been trying to treat myself , as to when it comes to what is ailing > me. > > I am constantly researching and looking up things etc... > > Since I am not able to rely on the help of my so called " doctor " > > Hope your evening is going well. > > > Irene Marie > canadianmade4u >
Guest guest
If I had a doctor who did not believe in alternative medicine, I would be looking for another doctor. I am leery of injections of anything. Not saying they can't work. But I'd rather eat foods containing what I need, or take oral supplements whenever possible. Proper diet is the first goal, then supplements. With a bad diet, not much added in is going to turn things around. Good luck. Guest guest
Hello Alobar; Unfortunately my doctor doesn't believe in it, because, she told me, that, since there is no proof about things , that she doesn't believe in it. Guest guest
(Note: Dear Diane, I think that you did great. Loved the post. Frank) from my extensive experience....57 years of suffering....it is a combination of needed nutrition that is the key (vitamins, minerals/supplements) Granted from those in my support group the combos are a bit different for each of us but the COMBO IS THE KEY.....Yes, I intended to shout that ;-) When I just took the MSM it wasn't great. When I just rubbed in MSM it wasn't great but MSM helps other things get through the cell membrane/absorption. I am not great at explaining things but I think you need to expand beyond looking for the magic one item cure. Guest guest
Well some posters have reported that they use Dr.s for diagnosis and then seek treatment after investigating several sources. As for me I have the time to spend an hour or two a day on the PC to look for treatment. I am treating my Gout and Acid Reflux and Arthritis from info. on the internet and from the Library. Hint: The internet is faster, the Library is more complete. I have found that the Doctors I respect---Explain carefully and recommend some action: But if I suggest a natural remedy they tend to reply " Whatever Works " . If they seem arrogant I never return... The small towns around here keep pleading for more Doctors, but We have always been able to get in within 24 hours and can always go to the Hospital ER. (Wyoming has no large cities, The whole State does not have enough people to make even one large City!) Guest guest
Hello ; I guess you can say that I don't look at doctors as being healers. Instead of trying to solve a problem, t hey mask it with meds etc... Which to me is wrong. I am also not seeking for a " magic pill " I know that there is no such thing. I know that most people , t hat is what they keep searching for. They'll be searching for long time , is how I look at it. I know that doctors practice and only know what they do , by what they were taught in med school etc... Just like when I found out I had high cholesterol. I was told that it wasn't my diet that was causing it, that in my case it was heriditary. (pardon my typos) Well, I did research on it , alternative ways , and found out that niacin works and also of course diet helps too. She wanted to put me on some meds. that I wasn't interested in. She wasn't happy about that. I showed her the proof about Niacin, and all the work and research that was done on it, that in fact, Niacin lowers cholesterol. Anyhow, I take Niacin, and now my cholesterol is fine. I also have fresh garlic to boost my immune system up. I take a clove of garlic and put it in a glass of water and I let it sit in that water 'til the next day. I take that as soon as I get up in the morning. Before I have breakfast. I do feel some change. I drink the water that the garlic soaked in, (which I call it a garlic tonic) every morning. And I eat the raw garlic also. I'm also interested in juicing. I've been doing research on what would be a good juicer to buy. So many brands out there. Happy to hear that you are doing better. HOpe you have a wonderful weekend.
