I think I may have developed chronic strep throat infections. About

4 yrs ago I had my first strep throat infection in my life. I was 29

yrs old. Since that time I've had about 3 more infections, and think

I have one right now. I'm going to doc in a while to confirm. I was

reading about chronic strep in which one might have strep constantly

in the throat and will test postitive, even though a virus is

causing the inflamation. I'm wondering if that's what's going on

with me, because I've always developed strep throat after one of my

children has a simple cold, as my baby is currently getting over. In

addition, I did test positive for group B strep in my vagina just

before birthing my 10 mo old.

If this is the case, what should I do? The problem is my symptoms

always act like strep, the swollen tonsils, fever, no majorly runny

nose or chest congestion, like what is typical with colds. Is is

possible a cold virus is triggering strep infection, if I'm a

carrier? I have recently replaced all tootbrushes in the house and

will soak in peroxide, confirming the dx.

TIA!

Debi
