How about all of you in the USA, call your senators and tell them to get off

their arses, or more likely out of the pockets of the AMA and big pharma, and

get this thing out of commitee and vote for this thing.

Senate Proposes Increased Access to Alternative Treatments

Legislators again look to open consumer access to a wider variety of therapies

with the re-introduction of the Access to Medical Treatment Act (S. 1410) into

the 108th Congress. The bill, introduced in three other Congresses, seeks to

“permit an individual to be treated by a health care practitioner with any

method of medical treatment such individual requests.” The bill would broaden

the parameters for access to integrative healing practices that go beyond the

scope of conventional medical practices and give consumers enhanced freedom to

choose the therapies and practitioners of their choice.

Co-Sponsors: Sen. Tom Daschle (D-SD), Sen. Charles Grassley (R-IA), Sen Orrin

Hatch (R-UT), Sen. Daniel Inouye (D-HI)

Status: 7/15/2003 Read twice and referred to the Committee on Health, Education,
