Guest guest
Here is the letter that I tried to post yesterday. (I have revised it a touch, because in my original post I forgot to add what I was doing with the Milk Thistle.) Please let me know why my post would not meet your standards. Thank you. Kind regards, Trudy Newman Hi Debi, I am diabetic (Type II) and have liver problems, along with fatty liver. An alt MD, that I was in touch with over the Internet, told me that fatty liver is common in diabetics, and is universal in obese individuals. She told me that the French used to force-feed geese to produce fatty liver for their " pate de foie gras. " Apparently fatty liver can interfere with all the biochemical reactions in the body, so treating it should be a #1 priority. I did some study on my own, and found the following links helpful. http://www.merck.com/pubs/mmanual/section4/chapter39/39a.htm http://cpmcnet.columbia.edu/dept/gi/fatty.html Be sure to take a look at the normal liver and then the fatty liver: http://www-medlib.med.utah.edu/WebPath/LIVEHTML/LIVER003.html http://www-medlib.med.utah.edu/WebPath/LIVEHTML/LIVER007.html http://www.gicare.com/pated/ecdlv37.htm http://www.merck.com/mrkshared/mmanual_home/sec10/117.jsp My local MD is having me do the following protocol for my fatty liver: Taurine (Thorne) 500 mg, 3 x per day Phosphatidyl Choline (Natural Factors) 420 mg, 3 x per day Lipotropic 1000 Plus (Solaray), 3 x per day N'Acetyl L-Cysteine (Natural Factors) 500 mg, 3 x per day I also take the following, which I added on my own (with my doctors full approval): Milk Thistle & Dandelion (Trophic), 3 x per day Super Milk Thistle (Enzymatic Therapy), 3 x per day Artichoke, (Cynarol, Dr. Dunner), 3 x per day The alt MD that I was in touch with over the Internet told me that it was a very good program. She said that fatty liver could be treated in six weeks, but my local alt MD said six months. I don't know how long it will take, but I am just stayin' with the program. ;-) LOL Hope this is helpful for you. Kind regards, Trudy
