I have bi-polar disorder and i have been on lithium, depakote and

hour because we think the topamax has caused it. a side effect of

it. so if it has i will have to come off of it

i have one source of infomation for treatint bi-polar without drugs

that is Empowerplus or truehope.com, but im not sure of the cost and

i got a feeling that since it is a co that makes and sells the vit,

and min, it will be high and i cant afford it. is there any other

herbs that have worked for anyone that can work for treating bi-

polar. my diet can improve somewhat. i will do anything. there are

no more mood stablizers to go on and im not going back on depakote.

i know st. johns wort is good for depression but how much and all. i

dont know of any good health pratcticners here. but i guess i better

start looking. please post a list of herbs that are good for

treating bi-polar and how much to take. thanks greg

Gregory:

Go to www.nordicnaturals.com. They have a very pure DHA and EPA

quality Omega-3 product. My experience with cust. svc. there is very

good. My whole family takes these. Good luck on your journey and

may G-d bless you. Nevada

Do tell... what does Consumer Reports know about vitamins? If you

purchase your vitamins at Sam's or Costco's you may as well throw

your money in the trash! If you want a good supplement, visit your

local health food stores or obtain from some reliable internet

source!

Sam's Costco's and Sundown are formulated by the pharmas

(Rexall, which is now affiliated with GNC)

and literally worthless!

Charles,

I am not really singleing you out even though it may appear so, but

your post is an example that I would like to use although there.

Please don't get your feelings hurt as there have been many many

others.

Whether I agree with you or not is not an issue to my point here

either.

Don't you think it would have been better for the group if you would

have told us why you consider the vitamins worthless and maybe given

us some documatation if at all possible. The same for why Cosumer

Reports are no good etc. Also it may have been more effective if you

showed (to make your point) why the vitamins are better at the

health food store etc.

Opinions are OK on this board if thta is what is stated by the author

and why and then explaun how or what caused them to come to that

conclusion etc. The readers can then evaluate the opinion based on

their own critria and their opinion of the poster's track record,

knowledge level, reliability, etc.

Although your post didn't have any of these following things, let me

cover some other things thta could cause a post NOT to make it to the

board.

We don't promote allopathic treatments here either and rarely do we

post research only from allopathic sites as they ar usually (in my

opinion unadulterated BS, designed more to have a marketable product

than to be a beneficial treatment to the user/consumer and usually

based on junk or adulterated science)

So everyone, post from allopathic references only if you think it

will fly here.

Be carefull of some websites that skew the information to sell you

something. This varies from site to site. The information migh be

somewhat true but they may leave out competing nutrients info or

something about their own that you need to know to evaluate it

properly.

A good way to use when composing your messages is. Pretend that you

are writing for a small town newspaper of 1000 circulation, and some

of them may not know much about the subject. So how do you tell them

in a way that tells the whole story. Even if it is short. Like a few

setences. Only 1000 in your town newspaper, so folksy is OK, but

informative is necessary.

Because that is basically what we have here. Smaller groups can get

away with a chat room style where everyone posts a stream of

conscious style posting. Don't get me wrong, I love that, just not

when we have a 1000 members in the chat room.

As to the point that there is too much information given here. That

usually refers to the posts that the person is not interested in. It

is OK to be a long post if the message is dealing with that person's

serious health condition. Funny how it works out like that huh?

Anyway, use your delete button on the ones that don't interest you

and go back and search the archives for them when or if you have a

health condition change and they become " interesting " to you.

Anyway, to all post but don't get your feelings hurt if it doesn't

show up. Instaed of demanding why your post didn't make it, spend

some time rereading your post so you can figure out what is wrong.

If you need information, I suggest that you first search our

resources and the webs resources and learn as much as you can. Post

that and share it with us, and then ask other to help you find

further relevent info. Then share that also. If you are at a loss or

it is a serious emergency please post immediately.

I would like to see hundreds of people posting here. I just don't

want to see this board to degenerate into a crowd of people all

giving everyone else advice based on little else than the million

reasons that people something.

To the readers, not everything on this board is accurate or even

true. It is up to each of us to educate ourselves to be able to

seperate what is and what isn't the best advice or information. There

are some valid differences of opinion and some times the poster might

be talking out of his butt. You have to be the judge for your own

solutions etc. with the same responsiblity. Anyway we try and keep a

loose balance between differeing opinions and accuracy. Which isn't

easy. Or what is a proper ost and what is not etc. The moderators

here do a terrific job. They are probably the most dedicated,

knowledgeable that I have seen on the net anywhere. I think that we

are very lucky to have them. I sure know that this group is one of

the best on the web and they are the ones to thank for that.

Go to http://www.mercola.com - type in bipolar and read the

reality - the research has been done many times over.

Same conclusion = OMEGA 3 is short in people with bipolar

and they DO NOT get out in the SUN.

All the 'over priced' supplements will only give relief for a

period of time because they are NOT dealing with the cause.

Replace omega 3 in the body - get a sun tan - and exercise

that is dealing with the cause and its a whole lot cheaper

and completely NATURAL. THE HUMAN BODY CAN ONLY HEAL WITH

NATURAL THINGS. DIET - EXERCISE - SUNLIGHT.

True medicine = Let thy Food be thy medicine

Alternative medicine = Slash, Burn, Radiate or Poison.

Hi Alcobar

Yes we NEED BOTH. Omega 3's carry some of the value of sunlight

including the critical photons which becomes BIOPHOTONS.

Omega 3 also protects cells by regulating almost ALL

METABOLIC functions both cells and total body.

One of the Best web pages I have found to date:

http://alkalizeforhealth.net/sunlight.htm

Biophotons = explained from:

http://www.mercola.com/2002/aug/21/biophoton.htm

" What Are Biophotons?

Biophotons are characterized by an extremely high degree of order and

can be described as a type of biological laser light which is capable

of interference and appears to be responsible for many effects which

ordinary incoherent light could not achieve. Its high coherency lends

the biophoton wave the capability of creating order and transmitting

information while chaotic, incoherent light simply transmits energy. "

This is how our bodys are run - almost could be described as

" life force " .

Essential Fatty Acids - How they control our Metabolism :
