Good luck - Ray. Hello group I have a friend that is on crack . I would like to help him he is in bad shape. I would like to move him in my home but, I have no experience in dealing with a person who is an addict. I am planning to take him to get acupuncture treatment. Any other suggestions . Guest guest
I have had some indirect experience with both crack addicts & heroine addicts. Be very careful about deciding to let someone into your home with sever problems. I have know people who have been robbed blind by addicts. They are also subject to extreme mood swings & sometimes violence against themselves or against those in their environment. If you are going ahead anyway, I'd strongly suggest you find out if they really want to change. If yes, they would probably benefit from a simple natural diet & lifestyle. Lots or raw veggie juices. No flour, sugar, caffeine, sugar, or tobacco. 8 hours of bedrest per night. Yoga, exercise, & /or hard work. Only organic meat & dairy & only in moderation. No MSG, food additives with fake flavors, food coloring, or preservatives. The person should make much id his/her own food every day -- being taught how to prepare food if necessary. No junk food, TV dinners, or any convenience food. Lots of vitamin supplementation. Balanced B vitamins. Vitamin C to bowel tolerance in small doe throughout the day. Person should stay away from people who use crack, smoke, drink, and eat garbage. Beyond this (which is only a start) you need to do a lot of research on specific things which will assist crack detox. Be very careful that one addiction is not just substituted for the crack. Best of luck. Alobar - " evelyn Richardson " <richgirl Friday, July 25, 2003 11:51 PM Urgent Help !!!!! Crack cocoine > > Hello group I have a friend that is on crack . Guest guest
Evelyn: GET YOURSELF TO THE NEAREST ALANON MEETING! You should be able to find a phone contact listing in your phone book, or call a local Drug & Alcohol Counselling Unit, or your city health department. If you're attracted to helping in this situation, YOU need help, and support from people who have been there, have had such persons in their lives, and gotten beyond it. Please don't make a decision, till you have been to a Meeting, and have some contact numbers, and chatted over coffee with them. Wishing you luck! Guest guest
Rehab Centres often have a " revolving door " of the same persons coming in & going out & coming in. It is NOT a guarantee of anything! Even if a person is in a Recovery Program like Narcotics Anonymous, has more than a year of " Clean Time " , it is good, but no guarantee. If you are attracted to the situation, it's because there is something IN YOUR character, which is not healthy, but can go into remission as long as you connect with people who also have drug addicts or alcoholics in their lives, and practice a 12 Step Program which is a guide to healthier living. You can even get beyond it. Look at your family for clues. It can even skip a generation. Were there addicted persons there? Regardless if you see the evidence, you're headed for certain misery, and you can head it off, and begin to assure you aren't attracted to similar situations. This is a " red light " for YOU! Drop the situation immediately, and be sure not to waste time connecting with help. Steve evelyn Richardson wrote: > OOOO! My .. what did I get myself into... OOO.
