Dear Consumer,

 

As of May 30, 2003, Health Canada will no longer allow Empowerplus to be

imported into Canada for personal use. Health Canada will no longer allow it to

be imported as a nutritional health food supplement, in spite of the fact that

Empowerplus has a legitimate NAFTA number allowing for its legal import for

personal use.

 

Health Canada’s position on this issue is ridiculous, unconstitutional, and

dangerous to the lives of the mentally ill. Truehope has done all that it can to

end this action but we need your help.

 

If you as a consumer of Empowerplus want to have access to this product, you

must take action today. We ask that you phone and fax (if possible) your local

MP, Health Minister Anne McLellan, and your local news media consumer watchdog.

The number for your MP can be found by following the link below. We also have a

list of names and numbers of people who are directly involved with the blocking

of Empowerplus that you may wish to contact. Along with anything else you may

want to say, you may refer to the following points to help make your case:

 

Every ingredient in Empowerplus has been used safely in the supplement

industry from 40 to over 100 years. There are thousands of nutritional

supplements similar to Empowerplus sold every day in Canada.

The government of Canada allows the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes,

but won’t allow vitamins and minerals to be taken for medicinal purposes?

The blocking of Empowerplus by Health Canada violates my rights under section

7 (the right to life, liberty and security of person) and 15.1 (discrimination

based on mental or physical disability) of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

 

Again, Truehope has done what it can to ensure that Canadians continue to have

access to Empowerplus. In spite of our best efforts, Health Canada has managed

to block your access to Empowerplus. We will continue to fight for your rights,

but it is now up to you to get Empowerplus back. If you do not act today, you

will loose access to Empowerplus.
