Guest guest
Diet Studies Lacking " Almost all Alzheimer's studies give a very narrow perspective on nutrition and the disease. For instance, the fat study overlooked the positive roll played by relatively large quantities of fish oil, so-called omega-3 fats. And they would have to be given at an earlier age to really make a difference. " --Russell Blaylock, Neurological scientist, physician and Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Mississippi Medical Center New Studies Look at Diet and Alzheimer’s By Gailon Totheroh Two new studies are out on diet and the risk of Alzheimer's disease. One study finds that animal fats and hydrogenated fats may increase the risk of the mind-robbing brain disease. The second study concludes that antioxidants vitamin C, vitamin E and carotenes in the diet may not reduce the risk of Alzheimer's. The key word here is " may. " As with many studies, the research provides only tentative conclusions that usually serve to confuse the public. Neurological scientist and physician Russell Blaylock says almost all Alzheimer's studies give a very narrow perspective on nutrition and the disease. For instance, the fat study overlooked the positive roll played by relatively large quantities of fish oil, so-called omega-3 fats. And they would have to be given at an earlier age to really make a difference. But the study participants were elderly. And the antioxidant study would have to have given fairly large antioxidant doses and not just what was already in the diet. In other words, they would have needed so-called therapeutic doses. Blaylock also says that the studies did not address the well-known importance of exercise for the brain. He said, " Numerous studies have shown that people that exercise regularly, particularly the elderly, have far less of these degenerative brain diseases than otherwise. People who exercise have clearer intellects and better cognition than those who don't exercise. " # # #Dr. Blaylock on the sweetner Aspertaim.
