Chinese practitioners write new formulas for new and old diseases. They are also innovating by combining knowledge from scientific studies with the principles of traditional Chinese herbal medicine. In this way, they've created formulas for serious modern diseases like cancer, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, glaucoma, diabetes, and sciatica. http://pulsemed.org/menopauseherbformulas.htm _ * Pain Management with Acupuncture and by Brian Benjamin Carter My wonderfully well-read wife s to a journal called The Pain Practitioner (www.aapainmanage.org/literature/PainPrac.php). After reading that for a few months, I suddenly realized that they never mentioned acupuncture. That's crazy, I thought. After all, it competes with drugs in terms of effectiveness and doesn't cause side effects. Plus, it's superior in permanently removing neurogenic pain, and preventing temporary pain from going through the " grooved into the brain " process that leads to chronic pain syndromes. http://pulsemed.org/painmanagement.htm _ * SARS Update: The Development of TCM in Hong Kong and the SARS Disease Epidemic Written by Mr. Wu Jia Wen, Translated by Rey Tiquia Currently, Guangzhou City has sent two TCM experts to Hong Kong to diagnose and treat SARS patients. We can consider this as the first step taken by TCM to participate in the war against SARS. However, these two TCM experts are facing thousands of SARS patients. They cannot stay here for a long period of time. I am afraid that this is like using a cup of water to put out a carload of blazing bundle of sticks and twigs - as the saying goes, " distant water won't put out a fire close at hand. " http://pulsemed.org/SARSupdate4.htm _ * Eczema Case Study by Attilio P. D'Alberto Asthma started at the age of 3 in summer. Itching (eczema) started at the age of 4, one year after the development of asthma, but ceased at the age of 14 and then re-occurred at the age of 28. Asthma ceased at the age of 18. The location of the itching varied from the age of 14 at the antecubital fossa to the popliteal fossa at the age of 28. Between the ages of 4-14, the patient's GP prescribed steroid creams which helped the itching but the patient later chose not to use them as he disliked steroids. http://pulsemed.org/eczema.htm _ The PULSE of Oriental Medicine SIGN UP is quick and easy... send a blank email to: beingwellnewsletter- _________ Thanks for your support!
