TV heads: beware the bulge

>

> Watching television may not be the quintessential brain booster, but is the

> boob tube bad for your physical health? Indeed, say Harvard researchers, who

> established a link between TV viewing and obesity (Journal of the American

> Medical Association, 2003, vol. 289, no. 14). Over the course of six years,

> they compared women’s television-watching habits with their other sedentary

> behaviors, such as sewing, reading, and writing, and found that each

> two-hour-per-day increment of television watching led to a 23 percent increase

in

> obesity. Each two-hour-per-day increment of sitting at work was associated

with a 5

> percent increase in obesity. By contrast, women who stood or walked around

> their homes for two hours a day reduced their obesity risk by 9 percent. The

> researchers estimated that if women adopted a relatively active

lifestyle—that

> is, less than ten hours per week of TV viewing and more than 30 minutes a day

> of brisk walking—they could reduce their risk of obesity by almost

> one-third. –Pamela Emanoil

> A. Check with each coral-calcium supplier, because each product has a

compared

> coral calcium with calcium citrate or gluconate. In my article, I pointed to
