1 Million Signatures for Stewardship

Emergency Campaign on Global Warming

* A Message from Environmental Defense *

http://actionnetwork.org/campaign/globalwarming_petition?source=alternet3

In early May, the U.S. Senate is poised to vote on a historic global

warming bill as part of its debate on America’s energy policy. This

bipartisan bill, the Climate Stewardship Act, was introduced by Senate

leaders John McCain (R-AZ) and Joseph Lieberman (D-CT) and is the best

chance we have to finally reduce America's global warming gas emissions.

This vote will stand as an early indicator of the national campaign to

reform America’s global warming policy.

Environmental Defense has launched the Emergency Campaign on Global

Warming to build a grassroots movement to support this bill. This

legislative effort will succeed only if concerned Americans convince

elected officials of the need for real action against global warming.

No environmental goal is more important for the 21st century, and no

approach is more promising than the McCain-Lieberman bill. If you have

ever wanted to do something to stop global warming, now is the time. Sign

the petition today:
