I need help making a decision regarding toothwork. I have already had 2

teeth extracted and now have partial dentures (both upper and lower) ~the

problem is the lower partial fit wrong and ended up fracturing the tooth it

was clasped next to it :(

I also have osteoporosis so I'm thinking the integrity of my bones is not so

good thus fracture easily I don't know... at any rate, I saw the dentist

yesterday

(a different dentist than I saw last time) because I have

managed care.. HMO type thing so each time I go in I have a different

dentist.. anyway, my dentist last time told me I would need a crown which is

$750 and my insurance won't cover it unless you choose stainless steel which

food can get under there then you have decay etc...

This dentist said if I couldn't afford the crown (porcelain) then he could

just take out my old filling and put in another filling and see if that

helps etc

anyway, the dentist I saw yesterday said something entirely different...

this

dentist said " We can start you on a root canal today "

I said no because I wanted to think about it. I said that my other dentist

never said anything about having a root canal done and that I wanted to take

the most conservative approach for that day despite how much pain I was in

so they went ahead and did a " sedation filling "

-Dentist said from xray there is no sign of decay infection of pulp etc

the tooth has fracture line.

I am familiar with George Meinig's book " Root Canal Cover-Up "

where the root canal tooth when extracted was ground up and injected into a

healthy rabbit.. and then the rabbit would promptly develop all of the same

diseases and die

-these experiments done not just once... but dozens of times and with

identical results you can't help but think more on this subject...

Anyway, any thoughts/comments/help on this subject would be helpful to me

right now

thanks
