Guest guest
I have a question and I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on it. I have been relatively healthy but with little warning, I passed out today at work while giving a very stressful presentation. I was told that I was out for 20 seconds or so. I was very nervous giving my presentation and I noticed that I was getting light headed and started sweating. Then I collapsed. It was strange that I had a little dream in the 20 seconds that I was out. I was very pale and disoriented for a little while and within an hour I was 'all' good with all my strength back. They called for paramedics but they cancelled the call since I regained consciousness so quickly and seemed to improve quickly. I'll be seeing my doctor tomorrow and I'll ask for some blood works, etc. My question for anyone that knows about this sort of thing is that how harmful is it for the body to go thru this and what could be causing it. It's happened to me a few other times throughtout my life at very stressful moments. I have had HIV for the past 2 years but extremely healthy otherwise. My first episode of passing out was 16 yrs ago. I'm not on any medication though I do take lots of different vitamins and supplements. Any thoughts on this... I would really appreciate it. :-) ray Platinum - Watch CBS' NCAA March Madness, live on your desktop!
Guest guest
Hello Ray, This sounds as though it may have been a panic attack as you were very stressed at the time. I have a friend who suffers this way and passes out when things get too stressful for him.If your doctor confirms this you may find some relaxation techniques useful.
