Guest guest
Weston Price made some interesting observations concerning tooth decay and nutrition. Firstly, sufficient nutritional improvement will typically arrest all dental decay. Improved nutrition will result in improved quality of the saliva itself, and so long as the saliva also has access to the cavity, no further decay takes place. The decayed dentine will remineralize via the saliva to a point of becoming quite hard or petrified. In other words, not only is further deterioration of the teeth halted, but the teeth will begin to regenerate. When dental pulp is exposed, this normally results in infection since the oral bacteria now have access to the interior of that tooth. Yet Price observed on many occasions teeth which were worn down to the gums, such that one would have expected exposed dental pulp. Yet the pulp in most cases had never been exposed, for even as the teeth were worn down, they were continually remineralize such that the dental pulp remained protected. Price also noted instances where people with exposed dental pulp caused by their adoption of processed foods reversed this situation with a return to their natural diet and preserved those teeth that had been in jeopardy. Thus, according to the detailed research of Weston Price, a proper state of nutrition is not only sufficient to bring about quite impressive regeneration of the teeth themselves from a pre-existing state of deterioration. -Douglas Morrison How we Heal
