FDA DOES GLAXO'S BIDDING

For years, Americans have been buying prescription drugs in

Canada and Mexico, where they are much cheaper. These

are, of course, the same drugs manufactured by the same

companies as those dispensed in the U.S. There's no

difference but price. The Food and Drug Administration

(FDA) looked the other way until GlaxoSmithKline pulled its

chain. Glaxo, you'll recall, is up in arms about American

seniors not willingly surrendering their earthly goods in

exchange for the medications they need to stay alive. Last

week, as though discovering the import issue for the first

time, the FDA announced its was shocked -- shocked! -- at

this brazen disregard for the public safety and landed with

both feet on an obscure Arkansas pharmacy.
