I guess we've touched on the oxalic acid subject before but I just want to

make sure I understand.....if someone has osteoporosis they do not

necessarily need to avoid anything with oxalic acid they just need to limit

or when eating sprinkle with lemon juice or vinegar to neutralize the oxalic

acid?? Norman Walker says that oxalic acid is only problem when heated...

but then I have also heard that oxalic acid is broken down by heat

~when I go down produce aisle sometimes I skip over huge sections due to

oxalic acid content in vegetables .. am I being silly?

I guess I'm super paranoid/scared given I have osteoporosis and I am only 27

years old :'

Please advise here....

Should I continue to eat all and any vegetable considering the benefits of

negative ions and other benefits of RAW vegetables of all types??

Should I still eat greens spinach.. kale... swiss chard etc despite oxalic

acid or should I lightly cook... or not cook or does sprinkling with vinegar

or lemon juice neutralize this oxalic acid?

Please advise

thanks

Jenny,

This subject is one of those highly controversial ones amongst our ilk and I

don't think anyone is going to be able to give you a definitive answer, only

their subjective opinion based on whichever writing or author they to.

Personally, I think Walker makes the most sense and I juice or eat raw any of

the oxalic acid vegetables. But while I will use a lot of spinach in my juicing

(I have life-long issue of low hemoglobin and ferritin), I don't eat much of the

mustard familly because I also have a low thyroid and if I'm having something

like cauliflower in my salad on a daily basis, there seems to be a " build up "

and then suddenly I have very severe gas pains and it takes me a few days to get

back into balance again.
