Guest guest
I am looking for a great multi - vitamin, mineral & amino acid supplement. Anyone have any suggestions? I've been reading about " Living Fuel " on Mercola's website, but it seems rather expensive for such low vitamin content (2 scoops containing only 500 mg of C)..... Anyone using this? I've also been reading that some people have trouble absorbing tablets so many sites recommend capsules. Twin Lab has " Daily Two without Iron " - this seems to contain mega dosages of vitamins in comparison to the " Living Fuel " . Anyone have any experience with this product? Please, any advice would be greatly appreciated..... Thanks, Kevin
Guest guest
Dear Kevin, I suggest that you get a working knowledge of the various nutrients for good health and then plan out what you think you may need for optimal health. Then compare that with various vitamin supplements and start from there. You will also have to adjust, as you go, to your own unique, individual needs. No supplement is going to give you all that you want in a complete supplement. (example) Most people who want optimal health usually take anywhere from 5 to 10 grams of vitamin C a day. I doubt that any supplement will have that amount in it. Usually they might have 500mg. or 1000mg. It is not only C, you will find other things that will seem low to what you need. I have never seen what I would consider a real complete one. Do you see what I mean? Most people take a number of additional supplements in addition to the major multivitamin one. To get one supplement to cover everything it would have to be the size of a softball baseball, or possibly larger. The quality of the supplement is very important also. Have you went to some independent health food stores? Usually they are quite knowledgeable. An old book by Adelle Davis called " let's eat right " explains vitamins quite well. It probably costs something like 75 cents on half.com used (out of print). There are many others. If you really want to be optimally healthy, you probably are going to need to learn about them, or see a professional, who has already learned, and you can pay him/her to do it for you. I mean that you might consider going to a good nutritionist, to plan out exactly what you might need, depending on your special needs and who can work with you to personalize it as you go along too. Or, it doesn't have to be a perfect plan to start. Another option is to just start. That is what most do, and then as they learn more about nutrients, and their own personal needs, they adjust their supplements accordingly. It is more important that you just start, not which is the closest to complete (individually). Ask 20 people, and you will likely get 20 different answers, to what they like personally. We all would like it if it were easier, too. I would like to take only one pill also. But I don't see that happening soon. good luck, Frank Gettingwell , " Kevin McCall Whitt " <kmwhitt@c...> wrote: > I am looking for a great multi - vitamin, mineral & amino acid supplement. > Anyone have any suggestions? > > I've been reading about " Living Fuel " on Mercola's website, but it seems > rather expensive for such low vitamin content (2 scoops containing only 500 > mg of C).....
