Aids demasks Pharmaindustry:

Profits are put before Human Lives

With over four million people already infected with HIV, South Africa has the

highest number of people in the world who are living with HIV/AIDS . Very few

can afford the treatment that seems to extend and improve the lives of people in

richer countries. High prices are effectively denying medicines to poor

patients, condemning them to a premature death.

While publicly claiming that the are fighting the spread of AIDS the

pharmaceutical companies are preventing the distribution of cheap, essential

medications for the Third World. By blocking the production of cheap generic

AIDS medications in the developing world the pharmaceutical companies unmask

themselves and their unscrupulous " Business with Disease. "

In general, millions of poor people in the Third World die every year from

infectious diseases because the medicines that might cure them are too

expensive. In the pharmaceutical market, profits are put before human lives,

with deadly consequences. Life-saving medicines are nothing more than commercial

products for these companies.

Health4Us is publishing a list of pharmaceutical companies that fail to provide

desperately needed help to the Third World at an affordable price. All named

companies actively take part in the African court case to make cheap generic

aids medications unavailable in Africa.

The involved companies represent the whole " who`s who " of the pharmaceutical

industry. Again, like the Vitaminscandal, or the Codex Alimentarius Scandal the

whole pharmaceutical industry walks in goo-steps in order to maximize their

profits against all human needs.

While the Industrialized World is flooded with high-profile profit making-drugs

like Viagra, Popecia etc. the number one killers cardiovascular disease and

cancer are increasing every year. Pharmaceutical substances created for this

market are oriented not to cure these diseases, but calming their effects. With

not targeting the true reasons for these number one killers the phamaceutical

companies keep this deadly market artificially alive. In the mean time the side

effects of these pharmaceutical semi-cures have risen to the fourth leading

cause of death in the industrialized world. 106 000 Patients in the US die from

side effects of synthetic pharmaceutical substances every year!

Booktips:

" The constant Gardener " ,

A novel from John Le Carré

In the " Author´s Note " to his newest Novel John le Carre states: " As my journey

through the pharmaceutical jungle progressed, I came to realize that, by

comparison with the reality, my story was as tame as a holiday postcard. " He

adds later: " ...particularly in the North American continent, where highly

qualified medical researchers have dared to disagree with their pharmaceutical

paymasters and suffered vilification and persecution for their pains. The issue

is not, whether their inconvenient findings were correct. It is about individual

conscience in conflict with corporate greed. It is about the elementary right of

doctors to express unbought medical opinions, and their duty to acquaint

patients with the risks they believe to be inherent in the treatments they

prescribe. "

With his new book and these statements John le Caree marks a turning point in

the public debate about the unscrupulous " Business with Disease " by the

pharmaceutical companies. The moral outrage of John le Carrés book (the real

subject of his books) burns as brightly as ever.
