Acidosis means the body is too acid. You have to start juicing

carrot juice, make green drinks, do colon detox to move the toxins

out of the body, and change your diet. Greasy fried foods, too much

meat, milk and milk products make you acidic. Minerals are

alkalizing. Coffee is acidic. Herbal teas are very good. Sugar is

acidic.

There is a very good booklet that you can get at the health food

store the is called acid/alkaline. I don't remember who wrote it but

is very informative.

These are a few suggestions.

AcidosisDefinition:Acidosis is a condition characterized by excessive acid in

the body fluids.

 

Alternative Names:Metabolic acidosis

 

Causes, incidence, and risk factors:

The acid/base status of the body (pH) is regulated by the kidneys and the lungs.

Acidosis is caused by an accumulation of acid or a significant loss of

bicarbonate. The major categories of acidosis are respiratory acidosis and

metabolic acidosis.

 

The human body is programmed to correct for either respiratory or metabolic

acidosis to maintain normal pH. For example, if the acidosis was caused by

excessive carbon dioxide (which is an acid) the body will correct the pH by

retaining bicarbonate (a base).

 

Respiratory acidosis develops when there are excessive amounts of carbon dioxide

in the body, primarily caused by decreased breathing. Other names for this

include hypercapnic acidosis and carbon dioxide acidosis.

 

There are several types of metabolic acidosis. Diabetic acidosis (also called

diabetic ketoacidosis and DKA) develops when ketone bodies accumulate during

uncontrolled diabetes mellitus.

 

Hyperchloremic acidosis results from excessive loss of sodium bicarbonate from

the body, like in severe diarrhea for example. Lactic acidosis is an

accumulation of lactic acid. This can be caused by many conditions, including

prolonged lack of oxygen, certain diseases, prolonged exercise,

hyperventilation, and medications such as oral medications used to treat

diabetes.

 

Other causes of metabolic acidosis include severe dehydration -- resulting in

decreased tissue perfusion (decreased blood flow), diarrhea, kidney disease (see

distal renal tubular acidosis and proximal renal tubular acidosis), and other

metabolic diseases.

In case you or anyone else is interested,

here is what Back to Eden, by Jethro Kloss says about Acidosis:

CAUSES: Meats, fish, fowl, tea, coffee, tobacco, alcohol, pepper,

mustard, spices, viegar, excessive use of salt, baking powder, soda,

jellies, sweet desserts, candy, preserves, pancakes, hot breads,

pastries, fried foods irregular eating, eating late at night, excess

starch, improperly cooked foods, starchy or poorly baked breads, foods

too hot or cold, and foods cooked in aluminum.

HOW TO CORRECT: Soybean products are excellent to remedy acid condition.

A diet of soybean milk or buttermilk for a few days or a week, pr orange

juice, would be excellent. Avoid constipation. Use zwieback or soybean

bread. Th drier the food is eaten, the sooner the acid condition can be

overcome. Chew! Chew! CHEW! so that your foodis liquified before

swallowing. Be sure that your food is thoroughly saturated with saliva,

as it is highly alkaline, and rich in vitamins. Do not eat with meals.

do not eat between meals.

After taking the diet, have one good vegetable meal a day, preferably at

noon. Be careful of combinations. Do not eat fruits and vegetables at

the same meal. Do not use any of the above foods, as when these are used

acidosis will again occur.

All these conditions are a result of years of wrong living. You must not

expect them to disappear immediately. It will require persistance, and

persistance alone will win, but you will be well rewarded.

Sodium and magnesium foods should be eaten in abundance, such as: •oranges

•apples

•beets

•cherries

•carrots

•strawberries

•celery

•cocoanuts

•cucumbers

•figs

•okra

•string beans

•radishes

•spinach

Herbs that are beneficial:

•burnet

•sanicle

•golden seal

•wood betony

•calamus

•peppermint

•And other herbs are very beneficial. Golden Seal taken 1/4 teaspoon

in a glass of hot or cold water an hour before meals, is very

beneficial.
