Guest guest
Hi! I am looking for input regarding the best drinks to give an infant. I'm searching this info for someone else. They have been using soy but have read bad info on it (and I don't feel it's any good either, referencing info from Weston A. Price) So, what is recommended? Rice Milk? Dairy could cause allergies and the babies did have wheezing/flem from that. Any info would be appreciated and references would be even better to back up the info. Thanks! Thanks! > Beth >> Here's some further information about soy products - not much has changed since this article was written. In fact, the same story just " broke " a few days ago - warning parents not to give soy products to boys. But the news report was the smae information as in this article. http://www.life.ca/nl/68/formula.html Almond milk is more and more available in commercial stores and has a high calcium rate. There's also oat milk, goats milk and sheeps milk (none which I have seen commercially). From what I've gathered, the concern about using alternatives to milk and soy for infants is they may not receive enough Vitamin D, calcium and protein. But these can be added through other sources. Here's some info about goats milk and infants: http://www.askdrsears.com/html/3/T032400.asp Mary
Guest guest
My sister in law gave me a recipe when my son was little for baby milk. I will try to reach her to see if she remembers how it was made. I do remember it was a mixture of protien powder (I think soy) but, there was a specific brand reccomended, several drops from an evening primrose oil capsule, and infants liquid multi vitamins (also a certain brand). It seems there was one more thing that I'm not recalling. She got it from a class she took while pregnant. I don't know who sponsered the class but, they were very pro natural and breastfeeding. This was what they suggested to be the best alternative to breast milk. I will do some more checking. Good luck~ Becklee
