Guest guest
JoAnn, I thought I better let you know--and anyone else who might have planned to order Now kelp: The website does say this is Norwegian kelp, but the label on the bottle--which came from Canada--says it is manufactured in Indiana from " marine sources " and there is no mention of Norway at all. I think if the kelp were really from Norway--and given the prices they charge it should be!--the manufacturer would certainly have claimed that on the label. I had ordered two bottles (to save on future shipping charges) and am sending both back. Claire
Guest guest
Hello Claire, I buy a familypack of mixed seaweed from a harvester in the maine, he harvests during the right seasons for each species of seaweed. He also sun dries the weed most of the time to retain all of the enzymes/nutrients.I get a 3+ lb. package with dulse, kelp, alaria and nori. He charges $55 inc'l s & h but it keeps for 3 years if you don't use that much. He also sells smaller amts. I think one lb. is the smallest. His fone # is 1-207-546-2875 his name is Larch Hanson. He will send a flier at no charge if your interested w/o obligation. There's alot of info in the flier about where & how he harvests. If you buy a family pack he sends a small book with it explaining how to harvest yourself and alot of recipes as well. I believe in buying from as many local people as I can to help support small businesses as long as they are fair in price and their product is what they say it is. Guest guest
Thanks, Charles. This resource looks like a good one, though from what I read online, the straight kelp granules aren't available right now. Maybe I'll consider the kind of mixture you use.
