Guest guest
Hello All.... <snip> Many drugs have the potential to disrupt the heart's rhythm and cause a condition known as torsade de pointes. In some cases, especially among susceptible people, the condition could make the heart thrash uncontrollably and lead to death. <snip> Some common drugs that could cause the condition include the antibiotics clarithromycin, levofloxacin and erythromycin, and the antidepressants Prozac and Zoloft, says Dr. Joe Selby, director of research for the Kaiser Permanente Health Plan in Northern California. <snip> I was on Flecainide Acetate a class 1a antiarrythmic and was given Erythromycin for a chest infection and ended up with asystole or a flat liner. The doctors had a huge amount of trouble reviving me at the time because the flecainide acetate was not allowing my heart to convert. Needless to say.... I went through sheer hell 12 months after the fact, having to be weaned gradually off the Flecainide Acetate and the withdrawl symptons that ensued. You could probably gather I have an axe to grind or a bone to pick? I guess I could be very wealthy now, there are a lot of people I could take to court. We need to be diligent to try to maintain the health of ourselves and our loved ones. Asking lots of questions to medical persons doesnt seem to be enough, It has been my experience that they tell half truths and leave you to your own devises hoping you havent died between visits. As consumers we must research our conditions and look at the alternatives to treatments. I can only hope that the persons on this list continue to carry the banner and expose these types of problems to all. It just could save your life *literally* Muse / Heather from Redcliffe Queensland Australia " The ink of the scribes outlives the blood of the martyrs "
