Guest guest
Something to consider on this is that she likely has a biochemical disease cause by some toxic exposure in her life. I noticed that Synthroid was one of her medications, which is for thyroid disease. Thyroid disease is usually caused by either toxins in our air, food, water, environment or from radioactive exposure. The most common one is toxins in the water or from mercury exposure via amalgam fillings and vaccinations. Synthroid is not the most effective medication for thyroid disease...Armour seems to be much better so she might start with a switch there. Their website lists docs in each state the prescribe it. My sister was on all kinds of bipolar medications and nearly died from them in her 20's. My parents then intervened and told the docs they are going to sue if they do not get her off all the shit (meds). They slowly took her off all until she just was on one. However, she has never really had success with that. I told her to start taking tons of flaxseed oil and other nutrients which has helped. The other thing interesting about this is alternative docs believe bipolar is really caused by thyroid disorders or the like and that was caused by toxic exposure so it becomes a chain reaction. We are all " toxic " in my family, but I recognized that it was more dangerous for me to go on synthetic drugs so I refused then they wanted to put my on nearly 20 years ago. I now know that my problems were caused by mercury exposure and radioactive exposure that only gets worse as you age. So now I am going to do chelation to eliminate the toxins and see how my body reacts. In the meantime, I take vitamins and minerals, and TONS of flaxseed oil which helps the depression. The next step is to get all my fillings removed. I suggest your friend research and learn more about the biochemical causes of her disease instead of trusting her doc. She can always go to a different one without her current one knowing...an alternative doc. Some good sites here on that she could to are: Hypothyroid, Autism-Mercury, and Adult-Metal-Chelation. These sites have helped me tremendously and I learned about the mercury/metal and thyroid connection from these. There is also a lot of discussion about which tests to have run to determine toxicity and if that is the problem. Bi-polar or manic-depressive is extremely common in heavy metal poisoning. Andrew Cutler also has a great book on this and steps you can take to help yourself with or without a doc. It certainly cannot hurt her. I fear she will only get worse because if she is toxic not only is the damage cumulative (gets worse each month that goes by) but adding the medication can actually screw up her body more by injuring the liver and pancreas and making it harder to get rid of toxins. If the meds are not helping, then she has nothing to lose by getting off them but I think one step at a time. Maybe switch to the Armour, then get off the other step by step while starting a detox program. At any rate, she should try the support groups I listed because she will find her problems are not as rare as she thinks and also a lot of extremely supportive and informative people who are so encouraging and have helped many others who were at suicidal points. > On Thursday, February 6, 2003, at 04:18 PM, sandkmoore@a... wrote: > > > Dear Groups, I know I have seen a lot of info on Bi Polar here but
