Health authorities want to place 36 million Americans on statin drugs to lower

their cholesterol. But the public keeps hearing about potential side effects.

Doctors keep saying the risks posed by statin cholesterol-lowering agents are

small compared to the benefits of taking these drugs.....but a new study has

been published and the medical establishment isn't telling you about it (Journal

American Medical Assn, Dec. 18, 2002)............

 

 

In one of the largest studies conducted, the reduction in the rate of heart

attacks among statin-drug users was insignificant (only 1.4 percent for heart

attacks and less than 1 percent for mortality).

 

 

 

Meanwhile nearly two-thirds of statin-drug users experience side effects, one

third have to switch medications, 5% are forced to stop taking the medication

and more and more patients report serious side effects, including heart failure

caused by statin drugs lowering coenzyme Q10 levels.
