Guest guest
--- Hello Wayne, It must have been that hat you wear - the one with the corks hanging from it that threw me! .. I don't know where I came by that idea, is there an aussie on this group? But seriously folks .. CLIMATE AFFECTS HEALTH! there is no doubt about that (in my mind) .. 7 years ago I was living on the holiday island of Tenerife which is part of the Canary Islands off the coast of N.W. Africa, I remember my thermometer always reading 73f *in winter* .. I thought it must be on the blink so I bought another one - same reading. I well remember talking to a Scandinavian one bright n' sunny morning and he said to me " you cant live in the Northern hemisphere in the winter " ! I've never forgot his words ... Its all about that serotonin (IMO), I probably do suffer from SAD, always have done when I think about it - perhaps we all do to a greater or lesser degree .. What I do know is this - I feel 10 times (at least) better in summer than I do in winter and that is a health issue of the first magnitude, as important as correct nutrition (or more!) IMO, ... I'm 50 (years young) and if I live another 10 years or so, 5 of those precious years are gonna be spent in 'The black season' as my friend used to call it ... I'm not having it!, I'm gonna sell up and do what the swallows (birds) do - fly south for the winter, to somewhere warmer than SW Briton, like Jackson MS ... 60f, man you're cooking with gas! Ray.
