This e-mail is about how people in Bay Area can help on

site planning, please forward this to others in Bay Area who

may be interested.

~~~~~~~~
at 10 am. Location Address:
Alameda Count Network of Mental Health Clients (office)
This Feb. 2 planning (Happy Ground Hogs Day!) will be a chance to
network
with others already working on the Freedom Rally. We will also decide
the extent and length of a PRE-RALLY event for Saturday, May 17: If
there
is plenty of volunteers soon, this can be expanded; if not Sat., May
17 will
be
tailored back. Let people know soon.
~~~~~~~~~~~

All activities and events related to M18 will follow nonviolence

guidelines.

While the main activities will all be legal with permits, there are

plans

for

nonviolent civil disobedience. If you are interested in that,

participation

requires pre-event nonviolence training. Participants, supporters and

trainers, contact us son.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
* M18 list volunteer is already matching up those who need housing
with
those who have free housing, for out of town. If you have a couch,
spare
bedroom, etc. in Bay Area -- or need are arriving from out of town and
need housing -- please contact julaville@e... Julia will also help
link up rides for carpooling.
~~~~~~~~~~~~

* For information on the initial co-sponsors: On Support Coalition

International

see http://www.MindFreedom.org. On California Network of Mental Health

Clients see: http://www.cnmhc.org. Both groups are deeply rooted in

the three-decade old psychiatric survivor/mental health consumer

social

change movement. To apply to be co-sponsor (co-sponsors will be

actively involved in working on event) or to be listed as endorser,

let us know.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Please copy and forward this to all appropriate places on and off
Internet,
to reach individuals and groups in the Bay Area who may help support
this...
especially groups working on human rights, disability, poverty,
homelessness,
prisoner issues, globalization, gay/lesbian/transgender/bisexual
issues...
All these groups -- and increasingly the general population -- are
directly impacted
by the domination and oppression in the mental health system: lack of
alternatives
for people in crisis, forced psychiatric drugging, the rise of
electroshock. Speak out!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
