On California Network of Mental Health Clients see: http://www.cnmhc.org. Both groups are deeply rooted in the three-decade old psychiatric survivor/mental health consumer social change movement. To apply to be co-sponsor (co-sponsors will be actively involved in working on event) or to be listed as endorser, let us know. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Please copy and forward this to all appropriate places on and off Internet, to reach individuals and groups in the Bay Area who may help support this... especially groups working on human rights, disability, poverty, homelessness, prisoner issues, globalization, gay/lesbian/transgender/bisexual issues... All these groups -- and increasingly the general population -- are directly impacted by the domination and oppression in the mental health system: lack of alternatives for people in crisis, forced psychiatric drugging, the rise of electroshock. Speak out! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To join Support Coalition International and get the winter 2003 issue of MINDFREEDOM (on electroshock) see http://www.MindFreedom.org. -- David Oaks, Executive Director MindFreedom Support Coalition International 454 Willamette, Suite 216 - POB 11284 Eugene, OR 97440-3484 USA http://www.mindfreedom.org e-mail: oaks@m... fax: (541) 345-3737 phone: (541) 345-9106 toll free in USA: 1-877-MAD-PRIDE The mind is a terrible thing to label, forcibly drug & electroshock.
