Guest guest
Hermit, Nutritional Yeast is an extremely rich and nutrient-dense food supplement, but it is also extremely acid-ash producing. If you are struggling to alkalize your body, you will likely lose the struggle with this supplement. Speaking from personal experience. Guest guest
Nutritional yeast has not been a subject of much interest in this group. Nutritional yeast must contain the sulfur containing amino acids that some say should be taken with flax oil, so wouldn't the two be a good combination? I don't know what the ratio would be, or if the quantity of sulfur amino acids is sufficient. I've started mixing yeast and flax oil in juice and smoothies, and making a vegetable and fruit dressing from the two. I also add seaweed, which probably contains some of the needed amino acids. I don't have the taste concerns that some do. I can take flax oil with a spoon. I use Twinlabs Super Rich Yeast Plus. It's more expensive than plain nutritional yeast but it's richer in some important nutrients, although it has added whey. Does anyone prefer a different kind or brand? I've been a lurker on this group so long, I've got 4120 unread (but searchable) messages backlogged. Thanks for sharing so much. I am quite fond of brewers yeast from Lewis Labs. Good flavor. Nothing added. Not a bad price when purchased in a big canister (32 ounces), although there are certainly less expensive brands. Never thought of mixing it with flax oil, although I probably have done so, as I sometimes use flax oil on my salads. Don't have a particular brand. I buy it from a local health food producer - so it's their brand. Mary
Guest guest
Thank you! Interesting objection. That may be why the brand I use, " Twinlab super rich yeast plus, " includes the list of other ingredients. It appears they're trying to balance out the deficiencies in yeast. The front of the label says it has added high gtf chromium and selenium, vitamins and minerals, papain and bromelain, " and added calcium and magnesium due to yeast's naturally high phosphorus content. " It has a list of other added nutrients on the back. Hum! It has added " ferrous sulfate " - iron! That's not good for most people, especially men. They should know better. > Nutritional Yeast is an extremely rich and nutrient-dense food supplement, but > it is also extremely acid-ash producing. Guest guest
This question has probably been asked and answered a thousand times, but does nutritional yeast play any part in candida infection? thx, scarlett lil2du <lil2du [lil2du] Wednesday, January 22, 2003 10:44 AM Gettingwell Re: Nutritional Yeast and Flax Oil Gettingwell , " Lovewisdom.NET " <hermit@l...> wrote: > I use Twinlabs Super Rich Yeast Plus.
