Guest guest
Maker to Withdraw Antidepressant Dutonin in EuropeWed Jan 8,10:45 AM ETAdd Health - Reuters to My By Richard Woodman LONDON (Reuters Health) - UK regulators said on Wednesday that Bristol-Myers Squibb plans to stop selling its anti-depression drug Dutonin (nefazodone) in all European countries where it is marketed. The product has already been discontinued in Sweden, and, earlier this week, the company's Dutch subsidiary said it would stop commercializing it in Holland in April following a review of its risk/benefit profile by the Dutch Medicines Evaluation Board. In a statement, the UK Medicines Control Agency said it was aware that the company was " planning to discontinue this product from all European markets " but would continue to market it outside of Europe. " As of December 2002, worldwide there have been 26 reports of liver failure, " the UK statement added. " Of these there were 10 cases involving liver transplant and 13 deaths (5 in patients following liver transplant), " it added. A company spokesman in Britain said the decision to discontinue the product in various European markets was taken for commercial reasons. She noted that the product has never been launched in some markets, including France. The drug is known as Serzone in the US, where it carries a " black box " warning that rare but potentially life-threatening liver damage can occur in patients taking the drug. Guest guest
Do you have a site I can find more information at for Serzone??? I am taking it 250 mg. twice a day. On my own I raised it because I was still falling into deep dark holes. I feel good at 500 mg. twice a day. Does anyone know of a comparable anti-depressant ?????? I tried going without, but can't unless summer here in Oregon. Help!!!! I hate being depressed as does everyone. I heard and have stored in some hidden recess of my mind that there is something wrong with St. John's wort too. Sorry haven't posted in a long time. I have been having flares, especially now when the bitter cold attacks my body. Worse then rain by far, except the rest of my body loves the weather like this, go figure. Thanks in advance for any help any one can give me and others in same boat. Sent with peace and Love Laughingbear

Guest guest
If your depression is seasonal then perhaps you should try full spectrum lighting which is very good for that. St John's Wort has contraindications with other drugs - good to take if you are not taking anything else but takes 3 months to kick in.
