Guest guest
There are many causes for arthritis, doctors don't shell out that information, they like to lump everyone up in one category and give pain medication as treatment and remedy. Pain medication is useful but if there is an imbalance in the body and you can fix it or counteract it, then you are reducing your chances of it getting worse. I just wanted to write what I have learned, I don't know all the answers. When I had some colonics done at a Wellness Center the therapist there told me that many persons suffer from arthritis because their digestion is not processing well. Any supplements that are not breaking down gets left off in areas like the joints. Creates inflammation. Irritating foods create the same problem, especially if you are not digesting properly. It is a good idea to take enzymes with meals and in-between. I had a bad experience eating corn for years. When I stopped eating it all the stiffness went away and pain stopped. I was stuck in and out of bed for days. Doctors didn't diagnose it as arthritis, never gave me any idea what it was until I read a book on food sensitivities and eliminated food one by one. Wasn't easy. But if you already have arthritis and are food sensitive too, you may find your symptoms flair up badly eating something undesirable for your body. Usually it is your favorite food. I read recently that there can be problems with fat metabolism. Methylation metabolism helps the liver transport fats. Sounds interesting and I want to get time to do a search on the subject. What I know is there are certain amino acids that help do that job. Supplementing may be necessary. Some supplements that help out in this category are SAME, Choline, TMG, folate, B-12, lecithin, phoshatidylcholine, phoshatidylserine. I don't know what all of these are, just read them in a book, but they are to help reduce inflammation in persons with this kind of problem. If this is your case you want to reduce your fat intake. Typical diet is to eat mostly vegetable, little meat. Maybe because if your not digesting protein or fat then it is the source causing inflammation in your body. After a long time of inflammation then damage will set in to the joint. Getting female hormones in balance is important. Have your hormones tested to see if there is an imbalance. Low progesterone leaves produce arthritis symptoms and inflammation in me. These hormone levels are important because they help process calcium in our bones to make them strong. The public is encouraged to eat many products that is loaded with extra calcium, thinking this will fix the problem. It doesn't if you are not absorbing it. We need a proper balance of magnesium with the calcium in our diet. Perhaps that is why milk products should be cut out too. We need the right kind of calcium and magnesium. Depending on you, find a form you can absorb. If you don't absorb it, it will get deposited in your joints. Oh, and you would need some vitamins and minerals to help get the calcium to work. My mother suffers from rheumatoid arthritis my dad is in his late 60's and doesn't have any. Must have a good digestion. His sister, my aunt has allot of degenerative arthritis. She has found taking bromalaine helpful. This is an enzyme that digests protein and reduces inflammation. Also Wobozyme is supposed to be good. You take these in between meals on an empty stomach. If you take enzymes with your food then it digests your food. If you take it in between meals then it helps build the body up. Lack of enzymes and amino acids lead to various kinds of disease. If I remember right, the knobby build up in the finger joints is caused by a build up of lactic acid. (sp.?) Well, it is some kind of acid. I know there are diets to prevent this but I don't know if there is a way to dissolve them once they begin. Many of us don't think of how important our bowel condition is. I did a cleanse and continue to do cleanses off and on, and with the help of taking my digestive enzymes feel many improvements in my health. Some problems went away while as I get older I begin getting other health issues I am not sure what to do about. Constant battle. But what is important here is getting your small and large intestines clean. You absorb your nutrients in your small intestines and if the nutrients are not getting through then you will feel bad all over. There is a product called MSM, it is a plant based sulfer. Sulfer is needed to rebuild body tissue. It also helps reduce pain and inflamation. But I was reading not too long ago that we have about 4 different amino acids that are sulfer producers. It is possible to look into what the body is lacking and replace it. I am good on both ideas. I am sure there is more information on what contributes to arthritis but it's all that's in my head for now. Liz D. --- rabbitbrain
