Guest guest
Either your full spectrum lights are very cheap or you have not got what you think. Here in the UK I pay £15 for regular bulb full spectrum lights and for the tube (flourescent) it was around £50 (that is US $75 or AU $150). You can get expensive and powerful units. If one expects to sit under these lights for a few hours per day, I think the lower wattage and lower priced units will work ok. The lamps I ordered cost between $ 4.00 and $ 4.50 each. I ordered 12 units which should fill 3 of my fixtures. Yesterday, it was 70 deg. I spend 2 full hours in the sunlight without a shirt. Guest guest
Re: Re:full spectrum lighting Barbara writes: Could anyone suggest a good source to purchase a full spectrum light and what to consider when buying. **** Barbara, I got mine from Paralite .... www.fullspectrumsolutions.com/ParaLite I had purchased an Ott Light from Office Depot. It is a desk lamp and has a single bulb. I went online, typing in my browser " full spectrum lighting " and got oodles of websites. From them I chose the afore mentioned company. Can one get significant benefit from a single light bulb? **** the desk lamp has a single bulb and I did notice " some " difference. However the box light with FOUR bulbs has made a very huge difference for me. In the past I had been diagnosed as Manic Depressive. I refuse to take chemical drugs for it...such as Prozac, etc. I have been taking 5 HTP for several years now and have found that it has helped.... more than St. John's Wort which only took the edge off of the depression. But, I must say the the 4-bulb lite box has done the most for me. There are days that I actually feel " joyous " !!!! If so, what strength? Also, I believe they had a flourescent tubular design and then a more conventional variety. **** We have bought " full spectrum bulbs " from Home Depot for our florescent kitchen lights and will be doing my hubby's shop lites also. Hope this is of some help to you..... Kiasi
