Frank, I read the webpage for the article on flaxseed oil & breastmilk. Long ago I took courses in Dairy Science at junior college & the leading statement quoted by Doc Mercola just does not make sense to me. I quote: " Human breast milk is made up of fifty percent fat " http://www.mercola.com/2003/jan/8/flaxseed_oil.htm Cow milk is about 3.5% fat. I could be wrong, but I thought human milk had *less* fat than cow milk. If memory serves me correctly, I remember reindeer milk having the highest percentage of fat of land mammalian milk with about 8 or 9% fat. Even heavy cream has less than 50% fat. I looked on the mercola site to see how to contact him, but I could find only contact info for those looking to become his patients. Given what appears to me to be a glaring discrepency between the statement about human milk containing 50% fat & what I believe to be true, I wonder if there are other discrepencies in the study Mercola talks about. I tried to read the text of the study at ajcn.org, but the site requires me to pay in order to read it. Alobar
