Guest guest
Hi Scarlett, <am also taking lugols - since about 2 weeks ago, i've muscle tested for it and on that basis am taking 10 drops a day on the skin. Ive had many many hypo symptoms for decades. Of course these tests are not 100 percent reliable for sure, anyway i am wondering how long it should take to feel some results.> I'm sorry I can't answer the questions you raised, but I'm wondering why you've chosen to apply Lugol's--which I think is the only iodine it's safe to ingest--to your skin. Do you know something I don't? Also, I thought the main point about topical application was to monitor what the dosage should be--stopping the product if a stain still shows after 24 hours, so I'm a little confused by your feeling you must rely on the mucle testing. Guest guest
Hi Claire - thanks for responding. Well, i dont know much. When i got the lugols and had my husband test me, it was for about 26 drops a day! Then a week or less later it was down to 10, and then i asked ; " in water " and i tested weak, and i asked " on skin? " and tested strong. Like i said, these muscle tests are notoriously unreliable. {but else have we got?}I assume the iodine gets absorbed by the body when it is put on the skin. Perhaps the rate of absorbtion is easier and more natural on the skin than from ingesting? I could be way wrong, let me know if you think so. best regards, scarlett Claire West [clairewest1] Friday, January 03, 2003 5:24 AM Gettingwell Re: Turning Yellow--NOW Lugol's Hi Scarlett, <am also taking lugols - since about 2 weeks ago, i've muscle tested for it and on that basis am taking 10 drops a day on the skin. Guest guest
Scarlett, Well, here we are, two people not knowing for sure about what we're doing, but trying to do the best we can figure out for ourselves. In any case, I do believe the Lugol's solution--painted or ingested--is better than " regular " iodine since it is potassium, rather than sodium, iodine. If I come across any new info, I'll post it.
