Guest guest
Horse chestnut extract is extremely good for varicose veins. They also recommend vitamin K cream but he should not use that if he has clotting problems already - vit K helps the blood to clot. I think that he needs to look at his diet and check out alternative therapies that will be of help. I have done a quick search and the following sites looked interesting. http://www.vvclinic.co.uk/ http://bidclix.net/PopUps/Popup113.jsp?gId=6 & opt=1 & excID= & nl=10 & pop=1 & p=3003 & cat=24 (go down the page about half way and it gives lots of good tips). http://www.varicose-veins.co.uk/ again go down the page to Treatment http://www.lifestages.com/health/varicose.html Please ensure that any creams or potions that he gets must be free of vit K. I would think that White Willow Bark supplements would be helpful but he should check with a good dr before he does anything. Hope this helps a little. Guest guest
Larry is very active and on his legs about 8 hours a day with his job. Bad case of phlebitis that wasn't medicated aggressively enough a year ago led to bed rest and permanent vein damage as well blood clots that took 8 months of Coumadin to dissolve. End result is wear compression stocking daily and lots of pain and aching by the end of the day/every day, upper thigh measurements are 3 inches larger by evening, as compared to morning. Specialist said that there is nothing more they can do except surgery which would likely just transfer where the problems are to the smaller veins. I'm looking for ideas to try. He is only in his 40's. He has normal blood pressure and no other medicate problems except for reflux, and now possibly glaucoma. Thanks,
