Guest guest
My mom is 62 years old. She had her heart checked last year for everything and all was real good. She just had her blood taken to test for a thyroid problem or possibly a problem with her liver or kidneys. No problems shown for any of those areas. Her symptoms are: she feels like she has pressure in the center of her chest. The pressure comes and goes. One thing that she noticed resently is if she eats when she feels the pressure it goes away. It doesn't seem to matter what she eats. As far as she knows it is not triggered by any particular food either. She eats fairly well. She is not a junk food eater. Maybe just a little hear and there. Doesn't eat red meat. Any meats that she does eat is in small portions. She eats a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. She may have a half or one coke a day if she has one at all. She likes decaf. tea. She is using Splenda, but the pressure started before she started using this. She is lactose intolerant. She has trouble tolerating different supplements. She is in the 2nd stage of osteoporosis. Her weight is normal for her height. Has anyone else had this type of pressure or know what could be causeing it? I believe she may have a problem with systemic yeast, but it bothers her to take Grapefruit Seed Extract, which I use for my son with autism. All suggestions and knowledge are appreciated. Thank you, April
Guest guest
Hi April - I would recommend that your mom removes splenda & coke from here diet immediately. Although you say she only started on the splenda after the problems started, there could be a build up of aspartame in her system. Try agave or stevia for sweetening instead of these artificial time bombs. She should stop eating ANY processed/junk food and get onto good organic food (as much as she can afford anyway) - give that a couple of weeks and I bet she starts to feel the benefit. Once she has got this regime under way, she can start to eliminate other things from her diet if her problems are not yet cured. She must keep having checks for the problem with her dr though until the problem either goes away or they diagnose what causes it. Hope this helps a little. Marianne > > My mom is 62 years old. One of the " side effects " of the glyburide was the pressure on my chest whenever I ate or drank more than a mouthful of water. I talked to my doctor & she just shrugged it off, saying that was not one of the listed side effects of that drug. I suspect that many pharm drugs have side effects which are not well documented. As many people your mom's age are on several different scrip drugs, it may be worth looking into. Alobar
