Guest guest
Hi everyone I joined this group a month ago, but I was so sick at that time that I couldn't introduce myself to the group. I joined this group to learn about herbal remedies for my illness. I am having Chronic Fatigue and Immune Dysfunction Syndrome symptoms for the past 13 years (right from the age of 14). I have been sick the most part of my life. Even when I was a child , I used to be prone to infections, had jaundice once and severe allergies (cold and sneezing). I am from India and I was prone to dust allergies there. Then from the age of 14,I started having flu like symptoms, headaches, my body becoming very hot all the time, intense thirst, palpitations, sweating, muscle aches, shortness of breath, extreme fatigue etc etc. Since none of the doctors could find anything wrong in the tests they took, they diagnosed me as having depression. I was put on antidepressants. I was on it for 5-6 years. I believed the doctors although it didn't make sense. I was depressed because I was so sick and not vice versa. Anyways, I came here 6 years ago. I was still on antidepressants from psychiatrists. Then 2 yrs ago, one psychiatrist told me I might have CFS. So I started trying different treatments, saw different doctors. I am a little better. But still I have very limited functionality- just taking care of myself exhausts me. I need help for doing groceries and other errands. Now one doctor tested me for chronic lyme disease and he said I am 90% positive for that. I am going to be on antibiotics for a long time. I am eating good food(raw vegetables, one boiled egg/day, fruits, soaked nuts, juicing vegetables atleast once esp wheatgrass with garlic, ginger, celery, and some other veggies, cooked lentils, beans, alfalfa sprouts, taking lots of supplements, herbs). I am really scared that this illness has taken so... much out of my life and I want to get complete well soon. Now I am not sure if I have chronic lyme disease or chronic fatigue syndrome. I am just very very tired. (sorry about the long post) thanks for reading. Gayathri alias Gayu - Official partner of 2002 FIFA World Cup http://fifaworldcup. Guest guest
Dear Gayathri, Welcome to the group. I think the answers you are looking for can be found here. The place to start educating yourself is the "files". As far as the 90% chance of Lyme disease is concerned: This is somewhat on the order of being just a little bit pregnant. Either you are or you're not. Either you have it or you don't. To go on antibiotics without knowing for sure is ludicrous. This is just another excuse of the medicos to push more drugs. Get yourself educated on natural healing hon, and you'll come through whatever is wrong with you in grand style. Guest guest
If you get mad enough at those psychiatrists who essentially raped you, that alone may fuel a recovery. In fact you may have grounds for a lawsuit against them. See if you can find an incident of chemical exposure in your past. That would explain everything. Being trapped in a small room with no ventilation, and a lot of model airplane glue, could do it. That's especially true if someone was vulnerable to begin with. It is almost certain that the antidepressants caused further damage, and will make recovery more difficult -- but not impossible. I do know of cases where recovery happened even after years on those poisons. Since you are from India, it is especially sad that you did not encounter Ayurvedic medicines. These techniques would surely have helped, and definitely would not have been poisonous. Given what you have said here, it would be a good idea to have some candied ginger and some Kapha tea around. These help the digestive system in all body types. The raw foods diet should help. The main thing is to avoid anything that would put extra stress on digestion for a while. Any food that causes difficulty going down, no matter how good someone says it is, should be avoided. I would agree that this " 90% positive " diagnosis of Lyme disease is not a good thing. You either have it or you don't. ASK if they are making the diagnosis from test results, or from symptoms alone. If it is just from symptoms, then this has happened before to patients where doctors who are frightened of the " CFS " or " Fibromyalgia " labels will fall back on Lyme Disease even though test results are not positive. Going on heavy antibiotics at this stage would be counterproductive, as they would at the very least cause further stress on your digestive system. I get a lot of research information about CFS/Fibromyalgia. Contact me privately if you want to discuss this in more depth.
