Doc,

I have found this book in several places on the web but the price range is so

extreme.

Amazon.com has used ones for $140., another place has a used one (The

Chemistry of Man-2nd edition) for $49.00 and Dr. Jensen's website has them

for $39.99. Which one do I want?

Love,

Ann

This sort of thing happens all the time in the used book market. The difficult

thing is trying to determine if the condition of the book will be acceptable

once you get it. I tend to deal with live, independent bookstores when

confronted with a sensitive situation like this. My favorite is of course the

Tattered Cover in Denver. They take very good care of customers. Not sure if

there is one like that in your area.

I almost bought the $49. book but was afraid of the condition. I wondered if the less expensive ones were abriged editions or if the more expensive ones were more valuable for some reason. I'll probably look around town but I don't think I'll find one.

Thanks,

Ann

In Detroit we have this amazing, massive, four-story warehouse called King

Books. They have over 400,000 books on everything you can imagine, plenty

of antiques (I once found an 1850's color-lithograph copy of The Scottish

Warrior for six bucks) and some amazing prices. It's one of our best

landmarks here, IMO. *lol* I do get used books online sometimes, though

Dear Ann,

I don't have it handy, so would you please post Doc Jensen's website URL to the list for me. A lot of good data there.

Love,
