iodine and tonsils

List, anyone know why the practice of 'painting' the

sore throat with tincture of Iodine was discontinued?

Was it a case of being too successful, like the h2o2

in the ears, or are there real dangers associated with

it? Lugol's seems to be really good for a number of

things, esp. with a little DMSO added, so I am

interested in trying it here and there for this and
