Guest guest
Hi Group, I don't post much, mostly a lurker and very greatful for all of the wonderful information and diverse opinions, but I have a question. Anyone know of any natural remedies for getting rid of planters warts? I know have heard that you can have them 'removed' by a physician (frozen, cut out, etc.) but would prefer not to have to go through that. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Does anyone know what causes planters warts? Might be helpful if I could try to avoid getting them. Again, thanks in advance for any suggestions. Guest guest
Hey You! Always nice to see the lurkers emerge into the light for a bit. *lol* I've recently become a HUGE fan of what I've taken to calling the " Garlic Slab Cure " , for warts and skin-tags. It works great, and it's cheap, easy and painless. You can look up some of my other posts on it in the archives if you want the blow-by-blow, but here's how you do it: Take a thin slice ( " slab " ) from a clove of fresh garlic, slightly bigger than your wart. (You don't want it too much bigger, because raw garlic will really irritate normal skin.) Use a band-aid to " tape " the garlic-slab in place on top of your wart and leave it overnight. In the morning, remove it, wash gently and maybe add some moisturizer (wearing a band-aid all night can dry out your skin, depending on the location--mine was on the back of my neck, and the band-aid tore me up until I started putting lotion on the site). Leave to air all day, then re-apply the garlic slab at night. You'll have to do this anywhere from a few days to a few weeks; mine fell off in five days. It will get a little irritated before it falls off, and when it does it may bleed, but it doesn't hurt and it works like a charm! A little slippery elm powder (or marshmallow root, I've been told) will help it heal and keep it from scarring. You'd never know that just two months ago, I had this funky growth on my neck! Hope this helps you, MSL >Hi Group, > >I don't post much, mostly a lurker and very greatful for all of the >wonderful information and diverse opinions, but I have a question. > >Anyone know of any natural remedies for getting rid of planters >warts? Guest guest
Hi, Pam! I had plantar warts for years. I tried every over the counter drug there was and nothing helped. My Mom told me to soak me feet in a water and bleach solution and then let your feet air dry. Tried that...didn't work. I think plantar warts are caused by some kind of virus and that you can get them by walking bare foot in places like the local pool or the shower room in a gym. I think that's probably were I "caught" mine. Now many years later they just "went away" I have no idea what I did but, just one day I noticed that they were gone. Someone here will probably have a better explaination to what causes them and how to treat them. Good luck! Guest guest
Stardard M.D. procedures for removing plantar warts are well established and very safe -- also painless. I had one removed by burning a long time ago, and remember that the anesthetic shot was worse than the procedure itself. There are some herbal cures, none of which are 100% effective. My favorite is putting a sprig of fresh yarrow leaf in your sock, on the area. That one is obviously only available in the summer to residents of the Rocky Mountain region.
