Thank you very much Cheryl!!! I'm not sure if I have that book or not. It seems I do, but since I can't put my hands on it at the moment, can't say for sure. Thanks for all the information. I do know that there are many plants that simply does not exist in my area, so happily, there is still room for me to write my own book specifically in my own spot in Florida. I absolutely love to make my own medicinal teas from wild plants. Cheryl, I'm glad you're out there foraging. Its free, and thats what its there for. I've been daring myself to get this bronchitis going around so I can treat myself and see if Spiny Amaranth works, and by which method. Hehehe!! So far no luck in getting sick.....!!!

love, Elaine

[herbal remedies] I Eat Weeds

This is a forwarded message that I thought some of you might like, especially Elaine, since the book is based on wild plants found in Florida.

>>>>I think this is this is the best wild edibles book out there. It may be available on amazon? You can read the review below. I have found it to be immensely useful in my foraging.http://www.hcfnps.org/bookreviews/eatweeds.htm

Well, Elaine, I'm not really devoting much time to learning about and harvesting my wild edibles. I should be, but there's always so much to do. I am gardening full-time right now. I did root up a large mullein plant and potted it in a five-gallon container just so I would have it close by. And I am behind on picking those red clover blossoms like I did last year. Did you ever make a tea out of the ones I sent you? It was so sweet and delicious that I simply must get out there and pick another year's supply of that most beneficial (and delicious) herb! I'm so glad to hear about your love of identifying and using herbs and hope the very best in your research and writing endeavors. But hope that you get sick I DO NOT!!

Elaine, I would offer to send more, but it takes a lot of time to pick all those little flowers, and you have to wait until the dew has dried off them, so you're in the sun, and last year it was sooo hot the week I was picking them. This year I simply don't have time, and the flowers are already getting old out there, but still, I have to harvest some for our personal use.

Does anyone else on this list forage? What types of wild edibles do you gather? We have Red Clover, St. John's Wort, Mullein, Blackberry, Black Walnut, and lots more that I don't know about!
