Hello,

I have GERD (reflux) and was wondering what natural remedies help it. I was on zantac which only made it worse so I took myself off and am now taking green magma and getting chiropractic adjustments and things are definitely better but I was wondering if there is anything else out there that helps. I don't get heartburn per se, more of the feeling of food backing up into the esophogus.

I forgot to mention that I am breastfeeding, can I take slippery elm while breastfeeding?

I used to suffer with heartburn and a friend suggested

I try slippery elm powder. I think its generally

considered to be a digestive aid but I found it helped

everything from the heartburn right through to

regulating the bowel. Might be helpful. I was taking

a half teaspoon twice daily mixed with juice to kill

the taste (its not pleasant) but the results were

amazing.

....And if you happen to have some of that glorious powder on hand, you can

also use it for these things, all of which I've used it for myself.

- Canker sores

- Cold sores

- Bad zits (I have had terrible acne in the past, and a little SEP mixed

with water put on there overnight is a great way to dry up the zit without

making it bigger and nastier first!)

- Anti-scarring for skin problems, cuts/abrasions and stretch marks

- Diaper rash (didn't do this myself as I have no kids, but I made my

sis-in-law use it in my nephew, and she said it works great--and it's

cheap, to boot.)

Hey, if you're gonna have it around, you might as well use it. I buy

slippery elm by the pound, and it never goes to waste. Is also great for

digestion like you said, as well as feeding to sick people who can't keep

anything down. --ST
