Guest guest
There is a lot to learn about iron levels. Apparently the mechanisms involved are very complex. My best guess at this point is that other trace minerals present in the body are an important factor. Based on my speculative research into chemistry, i would suspect that the key minerals involved in iron balance are copper, chromium, and manganese. Well, supplementing with these individually is flat-out dangerous. Again, this points up the value of finding the right multi-mineral supplement in each individual case. I always recommend starting with the KAL brand in the health food stores, or with Nutrition for Life if you are into multilevels. But there are very little-known brands with limited distribution that have turned out to be ideal for some people. Compounds using Paschalite (mined near Meteetsee, Wyoming) are an example. It is also possible that some forms of Bronchitis could deplete iron and other minerals. So I am with you, lets get back to business of health and healthy herbs. I am still iron deficient and slipped a notch by another no down from 37 to 36 on the test tube? I asked the health nurse at the blood center where I was turned down to give again, and she said I should take vitamin C with an high potent iron pill and it will work to get iron back up to the level in order to give blood. I don,t understand why this is happening? I gave two times without any problems and the third time I became aniemic? Oh and by the way Michael I ate a handful of baby spinach every day too. I heard Kale is loaded with iron could that help with oranges everyday, really I hate to start taking iron pills. Or is my bout with Bronchitis the blame I just finished getting over it a week before the blood drive again. Thanks for any suggestion Rita - Ian Shillington N.D. herbal remedies </A\ > Monday, May 13, 2002 9:19 PM Re: [herbal remedies] Re:Scott/Tara See answers below. Ian " Doc " Shillington N.D. 505-772-5889 Dr.IanShillington For whatever your reasons for posting this garbage, which has absolutely nothing to do with us discussing herbs on this group, your efforts are wasted. I for one do not appreciate having to delete posts like yours, it annoys me. Wow! I thought Sara had a lock on venom!!! ;.) Venom??? From our Elaine??? I don't think so. A maternal defence of her brood most likely, (Elaine has been an HR member for at least a year and a half). And Sara??? Welllllll, I believe we get a little educational, intelligent, and witty sarcasm from Sara once in a while. But venom??? Absolutely not!!! I think Mr. SH that you are looking through the haze of your own vitriol. Aren't the intestinal cleanse #1 & #2 made from herbs? If someone has found them to be " dangerous " wouldn't it have been more helpful, at least to the new less knowledgeable members, to have been told why " They are two of the safest out there. " ? The " someone " you are referring to is a religious bigot and an idiot, as I already pointed out and as should be obvious from his post, so why should I or anyone else adopt a viewpoint of " defence " to justify any statement to such as he, or you for that matter. Just a question....no need to bite. Just an answer....I don't bite, I toast. Like so with you. Toast! Doc PS. I hope this is the last of the discord Federal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1. Natural methods can sometimes backfire. 2. If you are pregnant, consult your physician before using any natural remedy. 3. The Constitution guarantees you the right to be your own physician and to prescribe for your own health. Guest guest
Thanks Michael And others who gave me advice on healthy alternatives to the 'iron pill'- I suspected that taking iron pills would be not wise. I knew a person who was at overloaded levels of copper in the blood, and didn,t ask why the blood turned into this unbalance of copper- so I would rather take nature's equivalent in vegetables or a multivitamin with iron than a straight iron pill.
