Guest guest
On one of my horse sites, someone is having a weight problem with a mare. I suggested some of the ulcer meds available, and also to try Aloe Vera Juice. She wrote back and said that you could not give aloe to a pregnant mare (or person either) because it was a purgative and would cause a miscarrage. Is this true? I don't recall reading anything about not taking it while pregnant. I thought purgatives were just heavy laxatives.
Guest guest
No equine knowledge here, but I'm pretty sure it's emmenagogues, not purgatives, that cause miscarriages. I don't *think* aloe is an emmenagogue, but you might want to look that up. -ST On Sun, 21 Apr 2002 22:35:33 -0000 " losregni " wrote: > On one of my horse sites, someone is having a weight problem with a > mare.
