~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Homemade Nad's Recipe Juice of 1/2 a lemon. 1 cup sugar. 1/4 cup honey. Put in microwave and cook stirring occaionally until it has boiled. It takes along time to cool. (remember kids, cool won't burn... be patient!) 1.) Mix the ingredients, and microwave it for 2 min., stir and microwave it for about 20-30 sec. more. Let it cool till it is warm and you can spread a THIN strip onto your skin. 2.) Make sure your skin is clean, so the oils in your skin and hair don't keep the sugar from sticking. Dust the area with cornstarch first, it removes oils. 3.) Using a small knife with no blade like a cheese spreader, a popsicle stick, or a tongue depressor ... apply where needed. (if you push down hard, it tends to hurt~ experiment.) 4.) Put on a strip of cotton like an old shirt or old sheet. Rub the strip 3 or more times in the direction of hair growth, then (very important) pull skin taut and yank it in the opposite direction of hair growth. ~~~~~~ BTW, whether you pull the skin taut from the top or bottom of the strip doesn't seem to matter, just the tautness of the skin. You have to occasionally reheat the mixture for about 23 seconds in the microwave.
Pros: cheap! use ingredients in your fridge. Cons: needs reheating, may hurt when spreading, australian woman yanking off your leg hair not included. The Bottom Line: i'm not gonna lie to you, it hurts. but it's free. i dub it worth a try. Recommended: Yes
interested in using nad's, or already a diehard nad's fan? i found this recipe, so now you can make your own. i've tried this, and i think your success depends on how much you apply, the type of cloth you choose, and how hot the mixture is. sometimes i screamed, and other times, the hair came off pretty ouchlessly*. (* writer reserves the right to make up new words.) have fun. (i hope.)
