Hi Guys, I have a question. My friend has a hip flexor injury. The

original injury was four years ago. She has strengthened it over the

years, but it is a chronic injury which is suseptible to injury. She

felt it pop one month ago, and again last weekend. It's numb from the

hip flexor, down to her knee for a month since this popped. In the

past, she had felt temporary numbness for a couple of day, but it

would go away. This is the first time it has been constant. Do you

guys know of anything that could help?

generic yoga might be a place to start followed by something like Tai Chi

I teach a movement program designed to coordinate how the brain uses the

body, but I have no idea where you are located.

Pilates and Feldenkrais both developed similar things and you might be able

to find one of their practioners near you.

Hip flexors do not just pop for no reason and therefore even though she was

injured, the " trauma " or the way the brain is physically dealing with the

muscles is the problem.

hope that helps

sorry...Thank you for the information! Is it OK if I give my friend

your e-mail address? The numbness has now turned in to pain...

Dear Molly,

Did you have your friend try the "Back in Action" exercises in the files. They work wonders.

Many people that I've turned on to these exercises have never had to visit a Chiropractor again. And this is separate from herbal remedies which can also help.

Love,

Doc

Thanks Doc, I'll check them out and see if she will try them.

I was out of town visiting her, and she was in a lot of pain

when I left. Thanks! Molly B
